Here we go; more chatter about agency convergence because of "the new way we are all communicating."
Meh. Same ole same ole.
Take this quote from a post I read recently:
"From a professional standpoint, I personally have seen the need to make sure we put the different aspects of services together, the better to serve clients and win different types of business."
Basically agencies have been productizing their offerings and creating siloed business units to sell more. Those days are over. It's not working. Convergence is upon us. The one constant are ideas.
Agencies are the spark plugs of driving business for our clients. We are the big idea people. The key to success will be ideas that augment and integrate into a client's business. "Out of the box" ideas often don't have budgets to support them. So, these days, agencies need to think augmentation and scalability. Not ideas out of left field with fancy names on them.
